My writing journey began with a simple yet profound act: writing letters. I turned to this medium because I found that words on paper conveyed my heart more clearly than spoken ones ever could. While spoken words can be sweet and uplifting, they often lack the weight of true intention. It’s the heart behind the words that truly matters. Misinterpretation often left me feeling anxious, especially when communicating with my family and loved ones.
I vividly remember the joy of exchanging letters with my cousin in Australia—each note deepening our bond despite the distance. It was through these heartfelt exchanges that I realised how powerful written words could be in bridging gaps of misunderstanding, not just with others but also within myself. I came to understand that we can be the change in the narrative of our words if used wisely, shaping the conversations we have with others and ourselves.
As I wrestled with my thoughts and emotions, I felt the need to communicate with God in a way that felt unfiltered and genuine. I began writing letters to Him, pouring out my fears, doubts, and hopes. This practice brought me peace, creating a sacred space where my thoughts could flow uninterrupted, allowing me to articulate my deepest intentions.
Through this journey, I discovered that my writing could be a vessel for sharing the gospel and the redeeming love of Jesus. Today, as an author, I strive to use my words to convey the message of grace—that we are washed clean from our sins and iniquities—through the same words that once helped me connect with others and with God.
